WE ARE HUMANITY FIRST | SERVING MANKIND
Humanity First Uganda is a non-political, non-religious and impartial international relief and development agency that focuses on protecting human life and dignity. Humanity First provides aid on the basis of necessity alone, irrespective of caste, creed, color or religion.
Our Mission
Our mission is to serve socially disadvantaged individuals and families in the poorer communities and disaster struck areas of the world.
We aim to offer sustainable development solutions to society whilst providing and empowering local communities the resources to help themselves. We promote peace and understanding based on mutual respect and acceptance. Through advocacy, emergency responses and efficient programming, HFU prioritizes the health and safety of those most vulnerable.
Humanity First has been established in Uganda since 2006 and has been able to respond to a range of modest scale local disasters as well as focusing on longer term projects.
Aims and Objectives
- Relieve suffering caused by natural disasters or human conflict.

- Promote the preservation of human life and dignity above all other considerations and through it, symbolize unity and brotherhood.
Our Values
Impartial: We provide aid and assistance to those in need irrespective of race, religion or politics.
Efficient: We achieve a massive return on donations by exploiting a pool of expert volunteers and global sourcing resulting in the majority of funds going directly to field projects.
Collaborative: We work with local authorities and other NGOs in a spirit of partnership to achieve the best outcomes.
Global and Local: We combine global expertise and resources with local knowledge of needs and culture to maximize the impact of our work.
Empowerment: We aim to empower communities to get back on their feet, heal rifts and to become independent
Our Approach
We depend on our individual donors and corporate sponsors for fundraising, volunteer recruitment, and building awareness about community needs to keep administrative costs low.

VISIONARY
In 1992, His Holiness Mirza Tahir Ahmad (May God be pleased with him), spoke of his vision of a charity that would help people out of duty, purely on the basis of need without any vested interest, saying “The scope of services of this organisation should encompass all human beings.” Humanity First was born.
HUMBLE BEGINNINGS
Humanity First was established in 1995, during the Balkan crisis, delivering vital supplies to victims of the conflict. Today, we operate globally, responding to disasters and engaging in humanitarian projects in 55 countries around the world.
TRUST AND HONESTY
His Holiness Mirza Masroor Ahmad (May God Almighty strengthen his hand), leader of the worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, is our Guide and Moral Compass. Through his wisdom and oversight, Humanity First Uganda remains honest and focussed on serving mankind.

STORY ABOUT US
HUMANITY FIRST UGANDA
Since 2007, Humanity First Uganda has gone from strength to strength and is now operating in different regions across the country. With the scale of our operations increasing all the time, Humanity First Uganda which is a subsidiary of Humanity First UK, will now take a governance and oversight role, collating information on projects around the world and coordinating Disaster Response globally, interacting with organisations such as the UN. Humanity First Uganda was created to take over operational responsibility, handling fundraising and Projects on the ground in Uganda through UK support.
