We install Water Wells and Pumps in remote villages, providing clean water and saving women walking tens of miles daily and refurbish them when required.
Around a billion people face malnutrition around the world. Humanity First Uganda is enabling farmers in low income regions to optimise crop yields to invest in their own communities. HFU also supports local farmers with agricultural inputs and tools, seedlings and animals for commercial farming. From Farming support and tools to milling machines saving many hours a day of tough labour, we help communities to become self-sufficient.
An estimated 7% of children are orphaned as a result of conflict, disasters or health inequalities. Humanity First aims to support orphans as close to their home environments so that they maintain contact with extended family where possible and safe to do so. Giving Orphans food, clothing and shelter, a place they can feel safe and cared for. We run orphanages, as well as place them with loving families.
In every society, people are suffering poverty, loneliness or from mental health issues. Humanity First supports the most vulnerable to accelerate their ability to fend for themselves.
Humanity First responds to natural disasters and man-made conflicts to restore communities. HF provides emergency medical aid, shelter, food and water. HF is able to provide an emergency multi-disciplinary team at short notice, with our multinational teams trained to work to our global procedures.
Health outcomes and mortality rates are still poor in many low income regions because of insufficient access to clinic facilities, insufficient trained staff and poor equipment. Humanity First is building clinics and hospitals, investing in equipment, and training local clinicians to increase capacity in low income regions.
Due to various factors related to income, hygiene and climate, millions of people suffer impaired vision. As a result, they are often unable to read, work or look after their families. Our Gift of Sight programme provides free testing, prescription glasses, eye surgery and nutrition guidance for those who ordinarily cannot afford treatment, and helps them gain their independence again.
